Richard Arkwright’s Water Frame and the First Textile Factories
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, I believe that the Water Frame was very significant to both the expansion of the textile industry in Britain and the progression of the Industrial Revolution. This is supported by the fact that the invention of the Water Frame was directly responsible for the creation of the factory system and the development of cities in Britain. It could be argued that the Water Frame was not so significant to the Industrial Revolution as it was merely a machine and that cities and trade were bound to develop in Britain anyway. However, this is not true as it was the fact that the Water Frame was so large that made Richard Arkwright decide to place it in a special building and get people to work for him.
